Increased fluorescence was not considered indicative of growth unless it exceeded the no growth control by at least 20%. The 20% threshold is indicated by the straight black horizontal line. The lowest antibiotic concentration that inhibited growth below a 20% increase in relative fluorescence was used as the MIC. The MICS in strain 64545 and 64125 were 0.63 and 5 mg/ml, respectively.
